Business owners know AI exists. They've seen the demos. They've tried ChatGPT.

But they're stuck.

They're drowning in tools and have no idea which ones solve their specific problems.

They don't need a developer. They don't need a course. They don't need another AI newsletter.

They need someone who can look at their calendar, their inbox, their workflows, and say: "This tool. This process. This is where you start."

That's the service I've been selling. And it's working.

Here's my entire model you can copy to start making money this week.

The Model

I charge $999 for what I call an AI Tools Assessment. The client gets a 45-minute interview, a custom report with 3-7 tool recommendations, and a 30-minute walkthrough call.

The guarantee: 5+ hours returned per week, or full refund.

That sounds aggressive. It's not.

Most business owners are losing hours every week to tasks that AI solved years ago. They just don't know which tool to use.

The average client sees 6+ hours per week freed up for an average tool cost of about $40/month.

That's a 25x return on a $999 investment. Every single month.

The Four Phases

Phase 1: The Discovery Call

This is a 45-minute Zoom call. But I'm not pitching solutions. I'm pulling problems.

The questions I ask:

  • Walk me through yesterday. Where did your time actually go?
  • What tasks do you dread but can't hand off?
  • Where does work pile up waiting on you?
  • What have you tried to automate but couldn't figure out?

The goal is to hear their pain in their words. Not what they think they should automate. What's actually eating their time.

I record everything with Fathom. The transcript is critical for what comes next.

Phase 2: The AI Analysis

After the call, I feed the full transcript into Claude with a specific prompt:

*"Analyze this business owner interview. Identify 5-7 areas where existing AI tools could save significant time. For each opportunity, recommend specific tools and estimate weekly hours saved."*

Claude catches patterns I miss. It connects dots across different parts of the conversation.

I review the output, add recommendations from my own toolkit, and cut anything that feels like a stretch.

Phase 3: The Report

I build the final deliverable in Gamma. Clean. Professional. Looks like something a $10K consulting firm would produce.

The structure:

  • Executive summary with top 3 opportunities
  • Priority matrix (high impact + low effort = start here)
  • Tool recommendations with implementation details
  • 4-day quick start plan
  • Financial impact breakdown
  • Next steps

Takes about 30 minutes to assemble from a template. Clients think it took days.

Phase 4: The Review Call

This is where trust gets built and bigger deals happen.

I screen-share the report. Walk through each recommendation. Answer questions. Let them absorb it.

Then I ask:

  • Which of these feels most urgent to you?
  • Do you want to implement these yourself, or would you like help?
  • What's your realistic timeline?

About 60% want help with implementation. That's where the real revenue lives.

The Expansion Menu

The $999 assessment is the door. Here's what's behind it:

Process Redesign ($3-5K) Almost every assessment uncovers at least one broken workflow. Map the current state, design the future state, remove the waste.

Automation Build ($1-3K) Sometimes they just need Zapier or Make.com workflows connecting their existing tools. Build it, train them, hand it off.

Knowledge Systems ($3K+) One client had 1,000+ hours of training videos nobody watched. We built a custom GPT his team can query instead of interrupting him. Saves 3 hours weekly.

Custom Workflows ($3-5K) For clients already using AI tools, I build custom prompts and templates that turn manual processes into one-click operations.

Full Implementation ($5-10K + ongoing) Custom agents running entire workflows. Only works for tech-savvy clients or those with someone to maintain it.

Why This Model Works

You're clarity + quantifiable outcomes.

Business owners are drowning in options. Every week there's a new tool, a new framework, a new "game-changing" automation.

They need someone to cut through the noise and say: "For your situation, use this."

That's worth $999. Often more.

The On-Ramp

You don't need to be an AI engineer. You need to:

1. Know the landscape Spend a month getting comfortable with Claude, ChatGPT, Fathom, Gamma, Zapier, Make.com. Use them daily. Understand what they're good at.

2. Practice the process Run 3-5 free assessments. Friends. Family. Local business owners. Build your interview questions. Refine your report template. Get testimonials.

3. Start charging $499 for your first paid client. Then $749. Then $999. Raise your price every few clients until you start hearing "no."

4. Build the backend Create your upsell menu. Process templates. Automation packages. Implementation tiers. The assessment is the entry point. Implementation is where you scale.

The Window

This opportunity exists because there's a translation gap.

On one side: powerful AI tools that keep getting better.

On the other side: business owners who know they should be using AI but don't know where to start.

The people who learn to bridge that gap will stay busy for the next 2-3 years.

Eventually the tools will get simpler. Eventually everyone will figure it out. But right now? The gap is wide open.

Key Takeaways

  • The AI consulting opportunity isn't building. It's translating.
  • A $999 assessment typically returns 6+ hours/week for clients
  • The 4-phase framework: discovery call → AI analysis → polished report → review call
  • 60% of assessment clients want implementation help at $3-10K+
  • You don't need technical skills. You need to know the tools and ask good questions.
  • The translation gap is wide open. It won't last forever.
